that And there s glossary type thing in back of the book with abbreviations used in case you aren t familiar with the lingo kids use nowadays in texts Lol Not my favorite of this series of books A lot of it fell pretty flat for me and I m not sure how they picked the Collection Of Myths That They Came Up With I Just of myths that they came up with I just like this could have been so much better Fun way to review the myths While the charm of this moticon and text abbreviation series wears OFF PRETTY UICKLY ONCE YOU VE READ A FEW pretty uickly once you ve read a few them it still is strong Runaway Wedding enough to keep teen and middle graders reading and it might just make readers of some of them In this installment that clever author Courtney Carbone sends up the Greek gods and goddesses in all their glory and insecurity Readers will meet Zeus who s always looking for a hookup Oedipus who tries to thwart the dire prophecy about his future Narcissus who falls in love with himself andven King Midas Using some of the same techniues she used in her Wicked Loving Lies earlier OMG titles such as checking in taking selfies and various messages some secret and some public the author has a blast making fun of all these legendary individuals There sven a site called Finder presumably her response to the dating site known as Tinder I won t lie I laughed uite a few times while reading this one As my students and I have decided though the book has appeal for someone who is already familiar with the gods goddesses and stories than for a newbie. 's Greek myths told through characters texting with La heredera del mar emojis posting photos checking in at locations and updating their relationship statuses The perfect gift for any reader young or old with a sense of humor A glossary and cast of characters are included for those who need it Forxample tl;dr means too long; didn't read. ,

Not the best offering in this series I think if the author had done longer versions of fewer myths it would have been better I don t think this is one that makes sense if you been better I don t think this is one that makes sense if you t already know those stories Also in the section about the War of the Titans the book keeps saying that Zeus tc are the siblings of the Titans when not only is this not true it directly conflicts with the previous section about Kronos and is really confusing just within a couple of pages pretty funny v uick reada uniue way of telling classic stories This book Was An Absolute Riot From Start To an absolute riot from start to I m a grown woman and ven I found myself laughing at some of the clever jokes told through fictional social media posts and mojis in this b Srsly these books are to die 4 Okay once again I

blown away by the creative way this book was written As an adult some of the text shortcuts were not ones I understood or knew what they meant but fortunately there was a bit of a glossary to help with that As a high school librarian I love how well this xplains in an asy to understand way the Greek myths and really how messed up all of those gods were It only took me two thirty minute lunch breaks to read this as it is a very uick read But I was laughing and snorting the whole time I ven passed it on to one of the teachers in my school who used to teach mythology and he loved it and returned it me later that same day I don t know if nough teachers know about these books but I am going to try to get out there an. OMG Classics the greatest stories ver told in texts Imagine What if Mount Olympus got WiFi and the gods and goddesses had smartphones The classic Greek myths get new life in irreverent and hilarious texts and posts Zeus a king of the gods always in search of a new bae A suad of goddesses who can't resist stirring the D share them with teachers as they are some of the best ways to get someone interested in all these crazy stories So many parts that were snarky and just hilarious The only thing that maybe I had an issue with was the WTF and FML abbreviations Knowing what the F stands for did bother me a bit However I also know that teens are using those abbreviations so it
